step one:
find a quiet place (not necessarily a silent place) a place that you can sit and not be interrupted for the length of your practice.
Step Two:
find a comfortable sitting position- this can be in half or full lotus pose, one foot behind another, criss-cross like in grade school, or in a chair with both knees and ankles at 90 degrees.
Step three:
Close your eyes and put your hands on your lap or put your palms up or down on your knees
Step four:
relax and pay attention to your breathing. do not try to change or alter it at this point just relax
Step Five
focus, as thoughts and things, come to you simply accept them and bat them away like a balloon towards your face.
Step Six:
here is where you may want to say in your head or out loud a mantra, an inspirational quote or a bible verse. (I will put another post for mantra Ideas)
Step Seven
do this regularly every day in the same place same position if you can get in 5 minutes a day that is good or 45 minutes that is also good whatever is beneficial to you this is your time to pay attention to what your body needs and to relax yourself physically, mentally, emotionally, and spiritually.
